Avira has avshadow.exe and Kaspersky has klwtblfs.exe. It is beyond me as to why security product vendors can’t come up with less dubious names and descriptions for their processes.
The klwtblfs.exe process is an integral part of Kaspersky Antivirus and Security Suite. It takes care of the web browser add-ons and provides functionalities such as link filtering (anti-phishing) and virtual keyboard. So yeah, Kaspersky did have a valid reason for entering WebToolBar component in the process’ description field. Unfortunately, over the years toolbars have been misused and maligned by malware distributors. So much so, that now even the mention of the word “toolbar” raises a flag.
Coming back to the topic, if you have Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Antivirus on your system then you don’t have to worry about klwtblfs.exe. If you still want to ascertain that it is indeed a genuine Kaspersky owned process, you can compare its MD5 Hash with the ones mentioned here.
