No , not at all , you know who deserve the absolute 100% credit but is sidetracked by the guy who lead the project and has takem it outside the environment it was built in :

NYU , they paid for the hardware and ressource to develop it to a working system and student of the NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences department did most of the research and job , but since Jeff Han ( the project lead developer ) founded a company and took out the entire project and developer with it its highly unlikely that NYU will be remebered in the futur for there part in the creation of this technology.

Microsoft is known for doing this every new technology as Microsoft *partnering* in it and sabotaging it for there own profit once it become big. They never did contribute the financial , nor paid most of the developer who worked on it and they are hidding the fact that its not even there technology to begin with and that they are leasing it just like Apple does for the iPhones and probably leopard.

Look up http://www.perceptivepixel.com/ , they are the company who are behind pusing and developing the technology , Microsoft is just rebranding there own version and as usual will probably make it there own by breaking compatibility down the road.

I saw the video and looks really promising stuff. But what about the price, it wont be affordable at $10000. Hope it becomes a reality.
