It appears that Reliance NetConnect is blocking the popular file hosting service RapidShare. I am not sure if this is being done intentionally, but I can confirm that Rapidshare has been down (inaccessible) for the past couple of days. Fortunately, it’s quite easy to bypass Reliance’s measures.
Reliance is simply employing DNS poisoning. So, switching to a public DNS service will alleviate your troubles. Here is how to change your DNS server.
Click on Settings in the Reliance NetConnect dialer application.
Tick the box net to use DNS and enter 126.96.36.199 and 188.8.131.52 as your primary and alternate DNS (OpenDNS). You can use 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11 if you wish you use Google’s public DNS.
Apply the changes and reconnect.
