Options is one thing that Firefox users are never really short of. Fx has hundreds of themes and choosing the best among them is almost an impossible task. Truth be told, it is unfair to simply select a single theme as the best. Every user has different requirements and a different sense of style. I am a big fan of modern themes which look sharp, clean and stylish while retaining their usability. I won’t claim that the themes listed here are the best. However, I can safely state that they are my favourite modern Firefox themes.
All-Glass Firefox v2
Technically this doesn’t really qualify as a theme. It is actually an extension which adds oodles of transparency to any Firefox theme. It works only with Fx 3.5 (and above) on Windows Vista and 7 x32 (with Aero enabled). The default theme isn’t very polished and doesn’t make everything transparent (e.g. StumbleUpon toolbar). However, this UserStyle (Stylish required) takes care of most of the problems associated with this extension.
Strata40 Theme
This theme is inspired by Firefox 4.0 mock-ups and allows users to get a taste of the upcoming redesign. Strata40 is a lot more than a simple theme. It comes bundled with an extension – Strata Buddy, which allows you to tweak the theme to your taste. Strata40 offers 6 different background styles including an Aero Glass style (for all the transparency fans). The theme is easy on the eyes and looks professional without being dull.
TwentyTen for Firefox
TwentyTen is an Office 2010 inspired theme for Firefox. I have been using this for a few weeks and it still is my favourite. This theme is truly fabulous. It is sleek, polished, and gorgeous. TwentyTen also comes with a companion extension (TwentyTen Buddy), which allows you to quickly change colour styles (to match with various Office apps like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher and InfoPath). The theme works best if you hide your menu bar (Firefox 3.5 users will require an additional extension). The most commonly used options are made available through the File button while the full menu bar can be accessed by pressing Alt.
Thsi are really cool themes.
