Reinvigorate sports a very clean and well organised web interface, thatï¿½s not only functional but also fast. Letï¿½s have a look at various reports offered by Reinvigorate.
Traffic : Reinvigorate displays the number of page views and the number of unique visitors on an hourly, daily and monthly basis using tables and graphs. The screenshot below demonstrates some of the graphs offered by Reinvigorate.
Visitor Detail : This section displays user data like Browser, Platform, Screen Resolution, Useragent, Timezone, Geolocation (using Google Maps) and Language and Region. In most of the cases graphical representation is done using Pie-chart and Histograms. Once again Reinvigorate impresses with its presentation. Screenshot below displays graphical representation of timezone data provided by reinvigorate. Reinvigorate can also tell if .NET is installed on visitors segments. However, this doesn’t work if the visitor is not using Internet explorer. This is a nice feature but I feel that similar data about Adobe Flash and Javaruntime would be more useful.
Sessions : As I mentioned before Reinvigorate does a lot more than just providing basic statistics. The sessions tab shows detailed information about every visitor. It tells how many times has visited your website, what websites he viewed during the session under consideration, how long did he stay on your website, what browser and operating system he was using, what screen resolution he was using and more. Information like visit duration and visitor depth help in analyzing how engaging your website is. Reinvigorate has another excellent feature up its sleeve. It’s called ‘Name Tags’. Name Tags are an easy way to identify exactly who your visitors is. It works by associating information your site manages (username, e-mail, account ID, etc) with the session ID Reinvigorate uses to track visitors on your sit. Once Name Tag is setup, instead of seeing cryptic sessions id’s you would be displayed the username in reports. This would allow you to track exactly what a member of your website has been upto.
Site and Path : This section displays which pages are most popular, which pages are most popular entry and exist pages and also the most popular paths taken by visitors on your website. Once again data is presented in graphical (histogram and pie charts) and tabular form. This is an extremely useful feature and allows you to better understand your visitors.
Search and Referrer : Like all similar metrics it displays top referrers and top referring domains in tabular form. Reinvigorate also displays list of pages which received largest amount of referred hits. List of top performing keywords and visitors sent by search engines is also available.
Snoop : Snoop is new addition to Reinvigorate. Although I didnï¿½t find much use for Snoop, it may be useful if you have a commercial website. Snoop displays live data about your website and has the ability to alert you when an event occurs. So you can be notified when someone comments on your blog or purchases a product from your e-commerce website.
Reinvigorate is a powerful, pretty and sophisticated service. Its biggest advantage is it’s intuitive interface. Unlike competing services like Google Analytics (which can be confusing) it’s very well organised and easy to understand. However, I have found that like Google Analytics Reinvigorate also under reports. The number of hits reported by Reinvigorate was lower than that reported by Firestats and Statcounter. Another issue I have with Reinvigorate is that it doesnt provide the option to select the duration for many reports related to Visitor Detail, Search and Refferer. Reinvigorate is still in beta and and hopefully all its shortcomings would be recfitied in the future. However make no mistake, Reinvigorate is already a very impressive service. In fact its one of the best I have seen.
Website Metrics has always been a challenging field due to high cost of operation (a lot of bandwidth and cpu resource is required). However, things got a lot tougher for existing services when google took over Urchin and relaunched it as a free product (Google Analytics). Currently Reinvigorate lacks a business model. If they donï¿½t want to end up dead they would have to start charging for their service in future. And this is where it will face it’s biggest challenge. Can Reinvigorate become a profitable startup?
